On a day last year, Tony Fadell, the creator of iPod, had his assistant get in touch with our studio, expressing his desire for a custom-made iPod 1st gen frame. We were greatly honored, knowing that our work carried significant meaning and had an impact. Despite our awareness of iPod 1st gen's iconic status, its rarity and timeless appeal had caused it to disappear from the market. To fulfill Tony's wish, we relentlessly scoured the market for traces of iPod until we finally located a device. We intricately designed and customized this iPod to meet Tony's specifications.
We also aspired to design an iPod 1st gen frame that would allow everyone to experience its charm. After several months of searching, we successfully collected 22 iPod 1st gen devices, and we chose to release them on the 22nd anniversary of the iPod.
